70 000-Year-Old Stones Cut by Laser?
October 1, 2003
These interesting stones, were found in Portland Maine, and are claimed to be about 70 000 years old. There are whole bunch of them found with interesting cuts and holes, suggesting they were presumably cut using some sort of intense heat technology. According to a local geophysicist, "they appear deliberately shaped by a process involving intense heat." Fashioned from European beach cobbles, they range from softball size to bigger than a basketball. The stones were usually heated, flattened with one end cut off for a hand grip and small dual depressions added for finger holds (see photos below). On and around these features are obvious signs of intense heat... (read more to see all photos)
...such as melted, glassy surfaces and permanent red and black discoloration.
The cuts are made with extreme precision through the hardest basalt, granite, and other minerals. The manner in which they were made is totally inconsistent with any known prehistoric technology. It is, however, perfectly consistent with the effects from a laser beam.
