I have been following a number of disturbing Internet postings by fanatic Muslim organizations of late. The totality of their messages has begun to take on some credibility in view of what I know of their eschatology, and in view of a number of impending astronomical events. So I asked the Lord to show me the truth of these matters, and I believe He led me directly to Ezekiel 21 & 22 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Eze/Eze022.html). In Ezekiel 21, and especially Chapter 22, YHWH tells us why he is sending Babylon to judge Israel. Reading the litany of ancient Israel’s sins, I was convicted that the United States is guilty of them all, and that we, as Babylon, are about to see judgment. But let me return to Muslim posting to discuss that.

Al Qaeda has just issued a warning to Muslims: leave New York, Washington, and Los Angeles (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,102179,00.html). Actually, this is at least the second repetition of the warning, as it was published a week or so ago on a lesser known Mulsim website in a slightly different format [“A Warning to Muslims in America,” issued by the Al-Islah (Reform) society: …Our Muslim brothers in America we request from you and very quickly the departure from these cities an immediately :Washington City, New York City, and Los Angeles city…...]. There have also been numerous postings stating that Ramadan will be different this year (http://www.hagmannpi.com/Update%200916.htm#Ramadan0916). Hamas Sheik Ahmad Yassin has “prophesied” that America will be destroyed during Ramadan this year (http://www.hagmannpi.com/Hamas.htm#Yassin). Furthermore, just yesterday it was reported that the Al Ansar jihadist group had posted the following on the internet: “…messages from Al Qaeda Network in Yemen that points to…execution of three greatest operations during theholy month of Ramadan ... Brothers and sisters I greet you, as you have noticed the splitting of the moon in two marks the start of the biggest operation of all, it is expected that America will be fragmented into 3 parts, I swear to Allah on this, I swear to Allah that the US will be divided... (November 6, 2003, WBEN 930 AM, The Tom Bauerle Show). I could go on, but you get the picture….

This could, of course, be all talk. But the Jihadists are trying to incite the entire Muslim world. If no actions follow bold threats, they risk being relegated to the “boy who cried wolf” status –they really can’t afford that. So are there reasons to take them seriously? Well, yes…. In Bin Laden’s last videotape he said a “black wind” was about to blow over the enemies of Islam (implying primarily the U.S.). In Islam, a black wind (huayra yana) is associated with hell (Quran 56:41-46) and with the destruction of Islam’s enemies ("And on the day of resurrection you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces shall be blackened.” Quran 39:60)." The black wind is also predicted to blow at the time the Imam Mahdi arises to defeat the unbelievers (convert them by the sword). I frankly think Bin Laden is campaigning for the Al Mahdi position. He also said in that video that he will cast himself and his steed into martyrdom “in the belly of an eagle [soon].” Personally, I think that is just talk…Bin Laden is a maker of martyrs, not a matyr himself.

So, how soon? When will this black wind blow? In this most recent warning to the Muslims to leave New York, Washington, and Los Angeles, Al Qaeda referred to America as “Hubal”. Hubal was the last and the largest of the 364 pagan gods in the Kaaba to be toppled by Muhammad (al-ilah, the predecessor to Allah, was left standing). The image of Hubal was so large that Ali (Muhammad's son and the first Imam) had to stand on the “Prophet's” shoulders to push it over. Does Bin Laden want to stand on the “Prophet’s” shoulders now and knock down America? If so, when would he do it? Before we answer that, let’s look at the significance of this Ramadan –the one the Muslim’s are saying will be like no other. First of all, this Ramadan will enjoy two eclipses [a full bloody lunar eclipse on Saturday night (November 8th -http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/11/06/lunar.eclipse.ap/index.html) and a solar eclipse on November 23rd], as well as the Leonid meteor showers on November 19th –this kind of astronomical embellishment will not recur during Ramadan for decades. Furthermore, the largest solar flares of the last 1000 years (and their consequent Auroras) have occurred during the first few days of Ramadan. How much fanfare for apocalyptic events could one want? You will note the Muslim posting I quoted previously refers to a strike beginning when the “moon is split in two parts” (Koran 54:1-4; this is a clear reference to the lunar eclipse of November 8). There are other Muslim postings that talk of chemical weapons shipped “for Ramadan” (http://www.hagmannpi.com/NBC%20WMD.htm). There are also Al Qaeda postings that state that the U.S. will be given (surrender) terms after the first attack, and if we don’t accept them, more devastating attacks will follow, and Al Qaeda postings that emphasize the upcoming attack will be in 4 parts (Miami + NY, Washington, and Los Angeles?). So, we might presume some sort of attack will be attempted at the lunar eclipse, followed by the “knock over” blow. When did Muhammad knock down Hubal? The answer is on the 21st of Ramadan (November 16th this year), the day following his triumphal “opening of Mecca” in 8 A.H. (610 AD). Surely Bin Laden and his sycophants would want to make the 21st of Ramadan the ultimate anniversary. But the Muslims make no bones about needing the power and blessing of their god to pull this off. But such power and blessing may be available…Muslims believe that a “Night of Power” (Layla tul Qadr) occurs during every Ramadan. Most research sources will report that the Night of Power follows one of the odd-numbered days in the last 10 days of Ramadan (the specific day is unknown to men). But the hadith further restricts the days to the 21st, 23rd, and 25th of Ramadan. But since many of the Muslims are convinced the apocalyptic event they are awaiting will occur between the two eclipses (11/8/03 and 11/23/03), that leaves only a few candidate days for the Night of Power this year. The days of significance are tabulated below.

There is no particular eschatological or political significance to the 23rd of Ramadan. It might be argued that the 25th, which is also Thanksgiving in the U.S. would be a good candidate, but one must remember that the Night of Power follows the odd numbered day. Therefore a strike after Thanksgiving would be very much anti-climatic. This just leaves the night after Ramadan 21, the commemoration of the overthrow of Hubal, as a candidate for the Night of Power. And remember, by the sun will go down in Mecca while it is still daylight in the U.S. And a crippling blow on the 16th of November would still have the effect of ruining Thanksgiving for the U.S., maybe forever. For a Muslim jihadist, it just couldn’t get any better than that.

I used to be a solid proponent of the U.S.A. fulfilling the role of Babylon the Whore, and fully expected her destruction to unfold along with the Fall Feasts of the Lord. However, after seeing the literal fulfillment of a number of Babylon’s descriptions in the Book of the Apocalypse come into being in the EU (click on “stamp, sculpture, coins, poster, tower” at http://www.divineintervention.ws/howcloseitis.htm), I am inclined to think we may get swept off the world stage instead. In any case, I am not looking forward to evil coming upon my homeland, but I do think there is plenty of reason to be concerned just right now. I hope this discussion will be of some value to others. The Lord said in Proverbs 22:3: A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. He also told us to blow the trumpet with a certain sound. I think it’s time to blow.
