Israel's Getting Ready for War!

For those in the southern parts of Israel "The Negev" the past few days have been full of fire works and rockets in the sky, as was reported 14 Patriot missiles were tested in defensive joint exercises with the US Army. In fact, as one drives around Israel and gets off the main highways it is obvious this country is ready for war. Or at least as ready as they can be not knowing actually what to expect. Many of us are wondering if these patriots will be effective against the unmanned drones that Saddam reportedly has armed with spray canisters. They fly low and very quiet known to be able to get under radar, and can kill many thousands before anyone knows they are here. They can be sent from Eastern Iraq or Southern Lebanon. No one knows how many Saddam has, but we know he has some and has been test flying them for some time. It has also been reported that Yasser Arafat has smaller versions, or remote controlled airplanes, capable of carrying explosives and God only knows what else. Up until now he hasnât used them, but he has them, and means to use them.

It would appear that a lot of attention is being given to the northern borders because of the heavy-armed Hizbullah in southern Lebanon. What concerns me is it would seem that little to no attention is being given to Egypt on our southern borders, and if anyone thinks that Egypt will not want to get involved in an attack against Israel, they have forgotten recent history. Not to mention the great effort of building up their air force and navy over the past 20 years with the help of the United States, North Korea and Russia and of course financed by the Saudis. All of that has not been done for decorations. After losing so badly in 67 and 73 they will wait until they think that there is a better than a 50% chance of winning before launching their attack from the south.

The Israeli Government has put out a manual for all its citizens giving us instructions to prepare for war. It seems that more than 80% of those instructions are centered on the possibility of a chemical or biological attack. Making everyone think that is what we should expect.

The home we are renting was built in this Moshav before 1991 it doesnât have a safe room so Connie and I have purchased a portable safe room, manufactured by some German Believers, they sell it to Israeli citizens at their cost, but itâs still expensive. You can find the same one on our site. All these Moshavim have bomb shelters but they were built for protection against bombs not chemical or biological attacks.

The bomb shelters in all the Israeli schools are being turned into classrooms, and the smaller children will be kept home until the war is over. They have been stocked with food, water, medical supplies and things to keep the kids entertained for a few days.

Because of the possibility of the war starting almost any day now, we all keep our gas mask and anti nerve gas medicine with us, or at least in our cars. I have also noticed that many Israelis have canceled trips that take them to far from home for fear of being stranded away from loved ones during the war. With the exception of those who have left the country, and there have been thousands of them. In fact, planes come into Israel more than half empty and almost always leave full.

For those Believers in Israel who are not Jewish or not citizens they find it very difficult to get any help, and almost no help at all from the Government. This has become a major concern for Connie and I, so we have doubled our efforts to find and help as many as we can. Needless to say finances limit us on how many, or how much, we can help. But we are more than willing to do everything we possibly can to save them. We have also noticed two things, many Believers have left, and I canât blame them, in fact, for those who are not Jewish and havenât been called here by God, should leave. Then you have a hand full that seems to have lost touch with reality and donât seem to understand what a chemical or biological attack does to people. They should look at a few available films in order to see what they are about to be faced with. Itâs a terrible way to die, and for the most part dead Believers donât make real good witnesses.

If you were living here I am sure you would see how easy it would be to get distracted from the work God has set before you. But like Peter we will sink and drown if we take our eyes off of Him. That is not to say one should be foolish and not prepare for the coming war, for we should. But it is the reason for our motivation that we must be sure of. For every Spiritual Gift God has given unto man has but one motive, and that is to serve the Body of Messiah. For those who walk in the Spirit know that to serve others is to answer Godâs calling, to be concerned for the souls and welfare of others pleases God. For Yeshua has told us, that if we love Him we must love one another. But He went even further and told us that if we do not love one another we do not love Him. So there is a great need not only in Israel, but also throughout the world for Believers to reach out and help each other, for the world will know us by our love one for the other.

So donât allow the coming events that face us to distract you from the task God has set before you. Instead it is at these times that a real Believer, a born again Believer in Yeshua, shines and the glory of God is seen in them. For when everyone is in a state of panic the peace of God is there for those who know Him and believe and trust in Him.

As for Israel, when this war is over, the so-called quartet headed by President Bush has already said they will concentrate their energy on forcing a Palestinian State. This act will force even more and worse things on the world for God will not allow it to happen.

There is one way God has planned to save Israel from such an act, and that is for Jews to listen to His call and come home. You and I have received a call to assist in that command, and we must go after as many as we can. I ask you to pray that the boat will be a reality very soon now.
