Toxic Algae Closes Area Lakes

(Sarpy County, NE) -- Two more dogs are dead after playing in area lakes. Last week, authorities discovered toxic algae in Buccaneer Bay Lake following the death of three dogs that had been in the water. Authorities are now concerned with the water at Hanson Lake, Betty Lake and Chris Lake. Neighbors are complaining of a bad smell coming from the water. The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality is working to determine what is killing the dogs.
