'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Most Americans are probably saddened and disappointed by the pictures coming out of Iraqi prisons. But not horrified. War is a nasty business. Most people know this.

The people who don't, belong to the political left. It is too painful to call them Democrats anymore. They are nothing of the sort. They inhabit the empty shell of the party that once was. They mourn the demise of the Soviet Union, with its Siberian gulags that devoured those who spoke of freedom. The USSR alone possessed the raw nuclear power to humble America.

They never speak ill of today's "worker's paradise" in Cuba or shine the journalistic light of day on Castro's aging and decrepit utopian alter upon which so many human lives have been sacrificed. What time and energy they still have is spent hating America, the West, God, Christians, Jews and white men of any and all faiths or none at all.

In their hopelessly twisted hearts and minds they view America and Israel as this generation's only remaining obstacles to world peace. They have set their sights on the annihilation of both. Whether such "political cleansing" occurs by Islamist slaughter from outside, or deception and treason from within makes little difference. Their world is at stake. They are not prepared to take prisoners.

Most Americans reserve being horrified for Internet beheadings of small businessmen and journalists unfortunate enough to fall into the hands of Islam's butchers. Ordinary Americans' horror is reserved for busloads of Israeli schoolchildren blown up on their way to school and their grieving parents; for pregnant mothers and their small children machine-gunned to death outside voting booths, for old men shot dead and dumped from the decks of cruise ships in their wheelchairs, and for planeloads of ordinary people flown into buildings filled with office workers – accompanied by the cry, "God is great!" to the tune of the deafening whine of the jet engines.

Most Americans find the business of war distasteful, but they understand the alternative: rule by the vicious, premeditated murderers who have dedicated themselves to the "religion of peace," and their blind worshipers on the left.

For the left, the brutal, senseless murder of Jews and Americans holds no horror. Horror, like racism, can only be perpetrated by white men of Western mindset. Such men, the women they marry and their children can never be the victims of horror. Whatever came to them was – in the left's politically correct, degenerate mindset – justice for the treble crimes of being white, male and Christian.

The left's heroes, it seems, always denigrate American society. From college professors to politicians, they bite the hand that feeds them ... and wonder why they are unloved by the nation. From the dining halls of VMI to the prisons of Iraq, God has been forcibly removed. What remains is affirmative action, politically correct promotions, incompetence, the blame game and the talk-show circuit.

Don't ask, don't tell. The left, you see, is at war with the Judeo-Christian God. He is – in their upside-down, topsy-turvy world – the enemy. Despite His gifts of life and liberty to America, He has failed to meet the left's utopian expectations. For this, He must be "brought to the left's justice," to paraphrase one Democratic senator on the chain of command in Iraq. The drawstrings on the curtain of human history are being pulled taut, however slowly. The curtain is drawing closed on the last remaining act. Those who wish to confront God face to face will finally have their opportunity.

God's response to this confrontation has already been recorded by the Apostle John, as Jesus lead him forward through today, tomorrow and the closing events in our world:

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"

– Revelation 6:15-17

"Peace, man."
