XALAPA, Mexico A 30-inch oil line caught fire today in eastern Mexico -- injuring at least two people.
The accident happened around dawn near the town of Omealca, about 150 miles east-southeast of Mexico City.
Enrique Fonseca with the Veracruz state civil defense agency says Pemex workers have closed off the line and were working to contain the spilled oil.
Pemex said a failure in the supply of gas used to pressurize the oil duct caused a momentary jolt in pressure that caused a break in the pipeline.
The company blamed the fire on an engine spark from a nearby car.
