Global Warming or Hot Air?

Given the popularity of the doomer movie, "The Day After Tomorrow," I guess I should throw in my own hot air on the subject. The truth, as usual, lies in the middle between Republocrat Corporate liars like Cheney of the recently merged company called USA/Haliburton and the fruitcake environmentalists. First of all, I think my own personal subjective viewpoint supports the contention something is wrong with the climate. Weather is short term, daily, weekly or monthly fluctuations in temperature, rainfall, wind and other meteorological factors. Climate is the longer term picture over years, decades, centuries and eons. In both instances, it is obvious to me over the last thirty years there have been measurable changes in daily weather and potentially climate. The only issue to me is why this is happening and whether the causes are part of a natural ecological cycle or man made, or a mixture of both.

My opinion is there are several factors at work here. The result is something called Synergy. Synergy is a scientific term which means the sum of all parts exceeds the whole. Mathematics tells us two plus two equals four, except when synergy kicks in and it equals five. We have no idea why this is so. Somewhere in the complex interactions of biology, chemistry, ecology and man something changes and we get more than we bargained for, literally. I consider myself both an ecologist and environmentalist, in the old, more saner view of the terms. Sometimes we think there is some kind of constitutional right for corporate predators to dump toxic chemicals into the water supply. I don't. I also don't think the current crop of environmentalists have the discipline to study the science involved and they certainly don't have the couth not to act like clowns. Beneath all the sound and fury of global warming lies a scientific foundation based upon chemistry, biology and ecology. Global warming is not a political issue at all. It is a scientific issue at its core. Global warming is really about the complex interactions of a truly amazing ecological balance on Planet Earth. The tree huggers give way too much credence to man and his impact on these ecosystems. We are dealing with cycles in geology, biology, chemistry, astronomy and the like which are simply beyond man. The burning of fossil fuels has no impact on the relationship of undersea volcanoes, or Coronal Mass Ejections from the sun, or a host of other natural phenomena. The key thing for me is the interplay between these manmade and naturally happening forces. The environmentalists ignore this since they have another political agenda.

Despite what logic tells us, the actual result of global warming could be a new ice age. Despite the cheesy acting, convenient timing and special effects, the movie did at least not botch the science too badly. Although the ice age starting 24 hours after Mr. Quaid and his little battle with the Vice President, who looked a lot like Mr. Cheney, was laugh out loud funny to me, the scientific foundation is there. Despite being based on a book by Art Bell, a UFO talk show host, and Whitley Streiber, a man who claims he was abducted by a UFO, it was not nearly as bad as I feared. The only totally and completely ridiculous scene was where the doctor, Sela Ward, Quaid's wife who had stayed behind with the bald little boy dying of cancer left behind in the frantic hospital evacuation, well you get the picture, was rescued by a firefighter who came back with a snowplow to rescue them. Nope, even though I nearly cried it was patently ridiculous to believe the 911 system would work like that. The important thing to remember is it was only a movie, a disaster movie in a long line of cheesy, bad acting, poorly plotted and with every known clichÇ, stereotype, generalization and hokey, heart pulling, manipulating trick known in Hollywood. I thought the scene of the Hollywood sign getting torn to shreds in a tornado was shrewd marketing. Let the sheeple fantasize about Hollywood getting wrecked even as it grows more powerful. The movie was part corn pone, part cheese, part propaganda, part science and mostly just the kind of stupid, mindless entertainment common in the USA. Heck the best part of Independence Day was when the White House got vaporized by the bugs. It was just too bad it wasn't real and Clinton wasn't inside. It's a movie. Get over it.

Having given my movie review, there is still a sound scientific foundation underneath all the melted cheese. Global warming simply means the globe is warming up. It neither requires or suggests anything man has done, is doing or will do has any effect on it. The environmentalists who routinely despise all technology have given technology God like powers to affect the global ecosystem. Man can have devastating effects locally, even regionally, but I'm not sure about globally. This increased heat could come from the massive and increasing CME's spewing vast amounts of solar energy into the universe from our Sun. This increased heat could come from the thousands of undersea volcanoes spewing hot lava into the worlds oceans. NASA once thought there were dozens of undersea volcanoes; at last count, they had discovered ten thousand. Combined undersea volcanic activity with surface ones and you have an incredible amount of heat being generated. If you are looking for a sound and scientific reason for the melting ice caps, look here.

Another one of Art Bell's guests has a book out called, "Not by Fire, but by Ice," in which he contends we are not warming up, but are cooling down. And yes, the scene in the movie about the Woolly Mammoth being found flash frozen is a scientific fact. So, I am not at all ruling out the possibility of what is called rapid climate change. If that happens, it will be as a result of long lasting cyclical actions in climate. Man and his fossil fuels will have little to do with it. Anymore than mankind has increased the CME activity on the Sun.

The universe and planet earth are majestic and mysterious places. They react to things in a scale of time reference we cannot comprehend, much less affect. What we see in a hysterical time frame of a decade or a century, geology measures in thousands and millions of years. Sure, Yellowstone blew up 640,000 years ago and is "overdue." It may blow up next week, or wait another 100,000 years. I'll keep you posted.

Profound biological, ecological, geological, chemical changes are happening on Planet Earth. It's true these are combined with profound political, economic, spiritual and mental changes. It is not too much to speculate they are connected to each other. If you ask me one clear way in which man is impacting the weather, I would tell you it is Chemtrails. Of course, chemtrails is the daily aerial phenomena which doesn't exist officially. Global warming is a political issue pushed by environmental extremists and globalists with an agenda. Whatever happens on this planet in the near future in terms of weather and climate, it will be driven by long term, eons longs natural cyclical process'. The blunt truth is man has less impact on Planet Earth than his ego dictates he must.

Heated ocean water is melting some of the external ice caps, while adding to the more internal ones due to increased precipitation from warm ocean water. This melted fresh water is slowly decreasing the Gulf Stream. I will go that far since the data indicates unusually cold water along the eastern coast of the USA and weather extremes in Europe from a slowing flow. And there is absolutely nothing man can do about it, since it is due primarily to undersea volcanic activity resulting from geological changes deep in the core. When you study science like I have you can write stuff like this and drive both the corporate predators and eco freaks nuts. There is no point to shutting down western civilization since it doesn't matter in the least. And there is no point to buying the latest Hip Hop CD since that also doesn't matter. I do agree with the Dennis Quaid character in the movie on one thing. When he says, "We need to be investing in long term survival and food storage depots," he is prophetic. Amen.
