Police Find Grenades, Gas Canisters In Suspect's Car


Man Wanted In Fraud Investigation

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. -- Police pulling over a suspect in a fraud investigation allegedly found live grenades and canisters filled with gasoline in his car, NBC 10 reported.

Police pulled over the car at the intersection of North Main Street and Delilah Road. They also found some cans of WD-40 lubricant, a funnel, rags and other items in the car.

Authorities said the suspect had several forms of identification, and that each ID had a different name on it. Police K-9 dogs combed through the car Wednesday night, looking for further evidence.

The Atlantic City Bomb Squad was brought in to deal with the grenades. A nearby doctor's office was evacuated as a precaution.

The FBI also was involved in the investigation, NBC 10 reported.

The suspect taken into custody and charged with fraud, authorities said. Other charges were pending.

The car had an Illinois license plate. NBC 10 reported that the car is registered to a person named Christinel Telegescu at a suburban Chicago address.
