NY Threat Includes Nukes?

An unclassified CIA report issued last month says al-Qaeda and related groups are ready to deploy WMD against the US Homeland.

The following article comes directly from the truth-telling Hal Lindsey. This is not one of Hal's outstanding, mass consumption WorldNetDaily.com columns ... no, this is a commentary from Hal Lindsay's own website, the Hal Lindsey Oracle.

The reader will note that this is consistent with what the Northeast Intelligence Network has been consistently reporting since at least December 2003; since the internet publication of the infamous Jakel56 and Jakel23 images; of the Call19 image of the nuclear destruction of New York City... and most recently of the nuclear threat to Boston and NYC and the close-call we recently had in this area only one month ago, and the report that the threat was not and is not over regarding a nuclear detonation at the hands of Islamic terrorists in New York City or elsewhere in the United States of America.

According to the report, al Qaeda and other terrorists also could produce what the CIA calls an "improvised nuclear device" capable of causing a nuclear blast. Such a bomb is "intended to cause a yield-producing nuclear explosion," the report said.

Terrorists could produce a nuclear device in three ways, including a bomb made from "diverted nuclear-weapons components," a nuclear weapon that had been modified, or a new, indigenously designed device, the report said.

As far back as the mid-1970's the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment concluded, "a small group of people none of whom have ever had access to the classified literature, could possibly design and build a crude nuclear device".

In March, 1996, CIA Director John Deutch warned that the Soviet collapse brought about "the chilling reality that nuclear materials and technologies are more accessible now than at any time in history." Plans for nuclear weapons were found in Afghanistan after the Taliban were defeated.

The only thing we don't know for sure is if they have if they have acquired fissile material. If so, a functioning bomb is not hard to make. In a simple gun-model bomb, one baseball-sized "bullet" of weapons-grade uranium is shot at high speed down a barrel against a second slab of enriched uranium.

The result is a chain reaction that could reduce much of Manhattan to radioactive rubble and kill about a million people before you can say 'Saddam was no threat to US National Security'.

By 1981, Saddam had 27.5 pounds of weapons-grade plutonium. The Israelis bombed the Osirek reactor into rubble, but what happened to Saddam's plutonium?

It was assumed to be destroyed by the attack, but plutonium is hard to destroy and easy to find amid the rubble with a Geiger counter. Where is it now?

And Russia holds an estimated two million pounds of weapons-grade uranium-enough for 80,000 bombs. Throughout the 1990's about 30 cases of nuclear materials' smuggling were reported a year during the confusion surrounding the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Question: How many smugglers DIDN'T get caught? A recent report from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace pointed out that, unlike countries, which may fear retaliation; terrorist groups are undeterred about using nuclear weapons.

Agence France-Presse reported in late April that U.S. analysts believed North Korea had at least eight nuclear weapons, rather than two as previously suspected. And Iran's ambitions to produce nuclear weapons appeared more real after Iran announced it would resume enrichment activities, defying the IAEA.

And Egypt, Saudi Arabia or other nations might follow Iran's lead and initiate or renew nuclear programs, the report said. All of these countries have ties with Islamic terrorism.

The Department of Homeland Security describes the effect of a nuclear suitcase blast on its website under the heading, "Terrorism Survival Guide".

There are two components to a blast's shock wave. First, there's the wall of pressure that expands outward from the explosion. It is this pressure, measured in psi (pounds per square inch), that blows away the walls from buildings.

A typical two-story house subjected to 5 psi would feel the force of 180 tons on the side facing the blast. Additionally, the blast creates a 160 mile-an-hour wind. And that's only at 5 psi. The wind speed following a 20 psi blast would be 500 mph.

The second component is thermal radiation. If you're seven miles away from a one megaton explosion, the heat emanating from the fireball will cause a first-degree burn to any exposed skin hit by the light of the blast. If you're six miles away, it will cause second-degree burns. And if you're five miles away, the thermal radiation will cause third-degree burns.

The intense heat would also ignite a "mass fire" -- i.e., a fire that could cause large areas to simultaneously burst into flames.

President Bush, and most of the Republican Party leadership will be at the Republican National Convention Center in New York next week. If al-Qaeda has even one nuke, this is the place to plant it. Suppose a one megaton bomb were detonated near the site?

According to the Department of Homeland Security, at Ground Zero will be a crater one thousand feet wide and 200 feet deep. The rim of this crater is composed of highly radioactive soil and debris.

Nothing recognizable will stand for more than a half-mile in all directions. At a mile and a half, only some of the strongest buildings -- those made of reinforced, poured concrete -- are still standing. Ninety-eight percent of the population in this area are dead.

At two and a half miles, the walls of typical multi-story buildings, including apartment buildings, have been completely blown out. The bare, structural skeletons of more and more buildings rise above the debris.

Single-family residences within this this area have been completely blown away -- only their foundations remain. Fifty percent of the population within this area are dead, forty percent are injured.

At five miles, any single-family residences that have not been completely destroyed are heavily damaged. The windows of office buildings have been blown away.

The contents of these buildings' upper floors, including the people who were working there, are scattered on the street. Five percent of the population are dead, forty-five percent injured.

Within seven days of the blast, greater-than-lethal doses of radiation will have contaminated a radius of thirty miles. It will take at least ten years before the radiation drops below lethal levels. Lethal radiation will have blanketed a radius of ninety miles. Everyone in this circle will die within fourteen days of exposure.

Radiation can cause cell damage, the loss of white blood cells and even temporary hair loss within a radius of 160 miles of Ground Zero.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

The reader will also note that the Northeast Intelligence Network has repeatedly warned of the Islamic terrorist use of and extreme interest in small aircraft, and their direct threat of an "American Hiroshima".

This is, of course, also concurrent with the inane public and international grandstanding-do-nothing arguments going on regarding the Russian governments arming of the radical Islamic Republic of Iran with nuclear weapons and the Red Chinese government providing the radical Islamic Republic of Iran with advanced missile guidance systems it recieved from the acquiesing US Clinton Administration in the 1990's - the same Iran in bed with radical Al Qaeda Islamic extremists threatening to destroy New York City.

Is anyone awake out there?
