JERUSALEM, (Reuters) Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant group in Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah, said today it was declaring war on Israelis in response to the assassination of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

''War, war, war on the sons of Zion. An eye for an eye. There will be a response within hours, God willing,'' the group, which has killed dozens of Israelis since a Palestinian uprising began more than three years ago, said in a statement.
