Khatami to Start Three-Nation Tour

Tehran, - Iranian President Mohammad Khatami will start three-nation tour of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Venezuela beginning on Monday.

Khatami's visit is to take place at the official invitation of the presidents of the three countries, press bureau of the presidential office announced Sunday.

The Iranian president is due to hold talks with the countries' senior officials on political, technical, economic, cultural, health, regional and international issues.

During his six-day tour, he is slated to visit the universities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and also the Zagreb Islamic center.

Khatami is scheduled to meet and confer with the members of the inter-religious council of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as two other countries' intellectuals.

The president is scheduled to inaugurate Iran's tractor manufacturing factory in Venezuela.

Several technical and economic agreements are to be signed between high-ranking Iranian and Venezuelan officials in the presence of the two sides' presidents.

Iran's ministers of foreign affairs, finance and economy as well as industries and mines will accompany the president during his three-nation tour.
