A Belgian woman who converted to Islam after she married with a radical Muslim blew herself up in Iraq a few weeks ago. RTL (Luxembourg Radio and Television)-France reported that the private Bel-RTL television network had announced this.
"For the first time, we received confirmation that a European kamikaze committed a suicide action," Bel-RTL reported. Western intelligence services have been informed of the action.
According to terrorism experts, women increasingly join extremists groups. What is new, however, is that these women are of foreign origin. Over the past 25 years, women committed about 10 percent of all suicide attacks. So far, all these women were from Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian origin.
The intelligence services also observe that increasingly more women -- converted or not -- join terrorist Muslim organizations in Europe, Bel-RTL reported.
