Credit Union Locked Today - Letter From Listener

December 19, 2006

Hi Steve,

I wanted to report something very strange that happened today at Members Credit Union in Hickory, NC.  I and my co-worker went there on our lunch break. He has all of his accounts there. Today when he went to go inside the doors were locked. Then he noticed a sign on the door that said if the dorr is locked please ring the bell. There was a door bell there, and he rang it about three times before he was able to go inside. After he went inside, I watched others come to the door and saw the shock on their face to find them locked. The folks tried other doors, ect. before finally noticing the sign. Then they would have to ring the bell several times before being allowed inside. One lady who had been trying to get in for 3 or 4 minutes almost left. My co-worker was complaining about saying that there were no more than three persons inside the credit union doing business, he said the tellers were certainly not, "overwhealmed" by customers, and he didn't know what to think of it. We have worked together three years and have gone there often, and I have never seen the doors locked, or a door bell before. This does not sound good especially with all the other reports you have been getting about strange things happening at credit unions.

Thanks,

Chris
