Heads Up From Nebraska

January 3, 2007

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your message tonight, we sure did need to hear it especially the last 10 minutes! I have been without power for 6 days now, with really no sure date as to when it will be on. I came to a small town near our farm (20 miles away) to a friends to do some laundry and get a shower before the next storm this weekend. The small towns mostly have electricity now. but the rural folk are being told 3 weeks to a month before you can look for electricity. Hall county (to the direct south of me) had over 600 electric poles broken in half. One guy on the radio KRVN said it looked like a bomb had hit! my electric co. said they had miles and miles of downed poles and lines, and that the grid went down, so they couldn't get any electricity to pass on even if the poles and lines were up. 35,000 people are still without electricity tonite.

We, thanks to the Grace of God, and your encouragement to be prepared, have been ready for such as this way in advance. we have 12v lights, a generator to pump water to our livestock and us, and wood heat and propane kitchen stove. We also have plenty of food for us and our livestock stored from our garden and meat we raise ourselves. I am amazed at how unprepared so many are. farmers around us don't even have generators to pump water for their livestock and go to the small towns... miles away, to get water to haul to the cows.... how stupid is that when you have over 100 head?

The small town grocery right after the storm had a head of lettuce for 1.79, the precut bag was 1.49, but today the precut bag was .88 on sale! is that gouging? When I called today to see when our juice would be back on I was told to go somewhere.... like to town... my nieghbor was told to go get a gererator. I think it is interesting as I think this storm was orchestrated. My son said "is this the Katrina of the midwest for a test?" I wonder, also I think it's interesting that "they" are telling the rural folk to go to town. not many are able to stay at home with no heat or water. why are they being herded to town? oh, excuse me am I a bit paranoid? ha yes, I have seen too much of what you talk about come to pass not to be prayerfully paranoid! I also called my sis in Florida last nite as the land line phone lines were also down (due to their transformers going down also-radio and tv stations are still off the air) to let her know we were ok,.... she said " why? did something happen?" she said NOTHING of this storm has been on the news down there! interesting isn't it? We hadn't heard about New Mexico's storm until tonite when you mentioned it. news is definatly regionalized

Thanks for the pep talk tonite, especially about letting the idiots go to their hell... we have warned and warned, but they still don't get wood for their stoves, extra water, food or even propane when we all knew this storm was on the way and would be bad. it is sad, but their eyes have been blinded.

Also, a lineman on his way to assist the crew reported back to his family he had seen an oddity as he drove into one of the nebraska towns along I-80. A big green explosion in the air above the town was the only way he could describe it. He and the family had waited for news reports on the radio and tv, to find out what it was, but have not heard anything of it. what do you think it was? this was on new years day.

The other news is odd, in this small town we have a closed bank. no note on the door, and the other one in town was open today, but first national was down... will let you know if we hear anything, but we thought it odd.

Thanks for your show, it was so nice to hear you again... I am used to listening online, as it comes in so much clearer, but have my shortwave up and going again. and thanks to my friend here am able to send you this note. God bless and continue to be the watchman that you are.
