Postponing the Day of Reckoning

April 18, 2007
by John Galt

As many watch the news networks go into overdrive to enhance and create news after it has already happened, the major events which are shaping the world continue to move in the background, with the general public by and large living in bliss and floating on the river of denial. As many of you follow the news postings that I produce and editorials, there is a common thread which ties not just through current events but history as well. The problem is that as a nation we have become so complacent that we are ignoring the warnings of our enemies and the actions they are taking as they prepare to bring us to our knees. While the situation in Blacksburg, VA is saddening, the situation in New York City and Washington, D.C. is maddening. America has allowed itself to become the Jiffy Pop generation. We only watch patiently until the popcorn is ready. For the record, in the situations I am outlining today, the popcorn is not only ready, it is burning out of control, destroyed the walls and roof of the house and the back of your recliner is getting toasty IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION.

While we smell the burning popcorn, the day of reckoning with history is being postponed daily. To keep your attention, please put the remote, the mouse, the device of choice which changes your attention span down for just two minutes and read the rest of this article. These are the news items which are about to impact you and your life beyond any reasonable doubt and although their might be more, I'm going to hit the highlights that I have been trying to steer you towards with my one hour per week.

1. The Great War

While many people laugh at the Iraqi war, well, it's raging on. It is not just numbers and names of dead Americans, huge strategic decisions which will impact our nation are being decided as we speak. The nation of Turkey is threatening to send several divisions into Northern Iraq, as I write this, for the purported purpose of "eliminating" the Kurdish threat to their nation. Iran is watching this activity with keen interest as are our military leaders. The problem is that if the Turks were sincere, they could occupy five miles of border territory to eliminate the problem. They obviously are not. They see the benefits of seizing all of Kurdistan, right to the Kirkuk region to create their own long desired economic self-sufficiency zone by seizing the oil fields. This gives them the ability to sustain their own economic independence as well as creating an alternative to the Russian behemoth currently monopolizing a lot of the European market. This means that not only are we interest
ed in this threat, but the Russians are watching as well.

Beyond this, the Iranian situation has not stabilized, it has gotten progressively worse. They are closer to sustaining their own ability to create nuclear weapons at will (as I believe they already have one or two from Dr. Khan's friends in the ISI) and the United States is no closer to stifling or destroying this ability. The Israelis are neutered with their own pathetic version of Neville Chamberlain as Olmert would probably have sold oven supplies to the Nazis had he been alive in 1938. This is creating a more dangerous situation as the Israeli military will not stand by and allow their nation to be destroyed. With the United States ability to sustain this war running out rapidly, both economically and physically (our military is exhausted), the events will culminate sooner, rather than later. All sides know this and thus a solution will be forthcoming, no matter how who's nose gets bloodied.

2. The Economic Implosion

So as we are well on our way to wasting the one trillion dollars we have borrowed from the world to lose a war we should be winning overwhelmingly, the United States identity as a high risk bad borrower has been put up in bold flashing neon lights by the rest of the world. The same Arab nations we use as bases to protect the oil we can not afford to pay for with real money are dumping dollars like Germans used wheelbarrows to dump their funny money in the Weimar years. To add insult to injury, they are accumulating gold and Euros to "diversify" but in reality, it's a replacement. The recognition that the rest of the world has found is that we can NEVER pay the debts back. And the one leg of the economy that was carrying us along was defrocked in front of America first (two years ago by this writer and many others) and now nightly on Bubblevision and around the world. The housing industry is collapsing. The real estate market, as one prominent San Francisco Realtor recently proclaimed, is now dead for a generation. You will not recognize the huge returns as promised. You will not see massive building programs, unless they are government sponsored with lots of barbed wire around them. You will not see banksters smiling about the stability of their real estate portfolio. Yesterday, SunTrust reported the losses that hit their Alt-A class of loans. Please note they are mum on so called "Prime" mortgage issues as they are working with those lenders more son than Sub prime and Alt-A so as to keep the party going. It will not last. And the abandonment of the US Dollar will not create a "dollar crash" as many are predicting. The minute it breaks 75 on the US Dollar Index, the Federal Reserve has two choices, and either are a possibility. First they could just leave the index alone and increase rates a quarter point to try to inject stability into the market place. Or they can do what all political bodies do, and that's just re-align the index to fit the geopolitical
and economic needs of the day. Either way, the real money will shine also known as precious metals, base metals and Swiss Francs are the safest places to be.

3. The Dangerous Illegal Immigration Situation

On this Friday's show, I will do a news story which has been well documented but never really focused on by the MSM, conservative talk radio, or most internet sites as it touches a nerve that no one wants touched. Catholics, staunch, conservative, lifelong for generation Catholics, are converting to Islam at a frightening pace south of our border. This detail in the illegal immigration debate is being ignored by everyone, but it introduces a frightening future for our nation. The worst part is that they are being converted by not the Islamic version of "missionaries" as Christians are used to, but by the Shiite warrior sects of Islam. In the editorial I penned a few months ago, "Why We'll Fight", I illustrated the real threat this could present, yet we are still allowing thousands across the border. And economically, the impact of the current crop is starting to hit home. Hospitals are failing. Gang warfare is on the increase from illegals organizing into gangs like MS-13. Diseases which are resistant to antibiotics, long thought to be under control are spreading via the illegal population. Of course the banks are inheriting a lot of the homes, you know, the seven hundred thousand dollar homes, given to illegal aliens without income verification and now being foreclosed on. This economic disaster is no problem to the banksters because their losses are guaranteed by you and I. After all, they could care less if your fees and taxes go up to cover their bad decision making. The bottom line threat is clear, but your safety and that of your family is the lowest common denominator in this debate until you can no longer meet your monthly minimum payments.

4. The War on American Culture and Religion

While this subject is not popular to debate in "world" circles, there is a fundamental American culture which was developed during the first two hundred years of our nation and is now under massive assault. In the 1960's and 1970's the "left", which can basically be defined as a neo-Marxist cabal of sore socialist losers from the 1930's mixed with a revolutionary Communist mentality fostered by our enemies in the late 1950's and 1960's, decided that the capitalistic freedom loving society was out of step with the rest of the world and elected to try to change us from within. This was temporarily rebuffed by the Reagan era of the 1980's where pride in our society and history was restored but after President Bush left office in 1991 (he abdicated his responsibilities after the Gulf War and allowed the left to run the show) it has been downhill since. The elitists who run this nation now from an educational, economic and political standpoint have diluted and destroyed any semblance of our once great nation. Religion, unless approved by the politically correct definition of the term, is a taboo. If your God doesn't meet the universalistic definitions set forth by the rest of the world, then you must be an evil Puritan seeking to impose Judeo-Christian values on the rest of the world at gun point. Yet the real threats, radical Islamism and Marxist versions of Christianity, are celebrated despite the anti-American perversion they promote. The concept of internationalization of our society, where we adopt our culture to those of other nationalities instead of the traditional merging or their ideals into ours is Balkanizing our nation, one day, one city, one state at a time. This will not last. It is creating a time bomb which eventually will lead to what I fear is a great Civil War, which will make our first one look like a Sunday school picnic because of the new weapons and voracity for which it will be fought. To exist in our society now, the left has imposed the ideal of "political correctness" which is basically a moral code that has no basis, no rule book and no final arbiter. The reason it is so dangerous is that traditionalism and values we once held dear to our heart, patriotism, love of Country and family, and piety without shame, are all now considered to be evil and actionable because it harms the ideal of one world unity. Whether it is a perceived threat against the environment, home schooling, or just the freedom to enjoy our Bill of Rights, these things we once took for granted are under assault. Yet few, if any, stand up against this steamroller and those that do are shamed into silence or worse.

This shall not continue.

In summation, the threats I pose above are being postponed by not just our government, but the population as a whole. While many of us attempt to address these issues individually, they are all tied together now. The coming conflict can not be avoided, yet as a society, we prefer to watch "reality" television or enjoy the other diversions which keep our mind off the subjects. We have an entire religion where up to ten percent of it's followers want us slaughtered. We have an entire nation which is exporting it problem of poverty and slothfulness into our own. We have an entire subculture which is attempting to eliminate the history and beliefs of the people from the last two hundred plus years of our existence. And lastly, we have an economic elite class which has decided to shoplift the store until it's empty as they relocate their families and fortunes to a resort island of relative safety as we decline into second world status. The day of reckoning is not being just postponed by our society, it is being ignored. Eventually, all of the problems I have listed above will intersect, and that is the date we can not avoid.

That is the date that Americans will be confronted with their worst fear.

Much like that date when the Visigoths elected to no longer serve their masters, but instead slaughter them as the constant complacency created by "diversions" kept the Roman people asleep.

Welcome to what is defined as a major turning point in history folks. You're living it.
