July 11 – Letter from Listener

May 21, 2009

I listened to Steve's show on the internet tonight. I talked a bit with my pastor about the show as well. That is when the thought of July being named by Julius Caesar for himself came to mind.

I checked David Flynn's web site and saw the video about July 4th, then the Lord sent me on a short research mission. So, here is the posting I put on David Flynn's site:

Just for what its worth, July was named by Julius Caesar for himself, 1st Emperor of Rome, 1st Emperor of the western world empire of the time, he rose to power by "flattery" (political intrigue) and by conquest when he ended the "Republic" of Rome. Rome was founded 21 April 753 B.C. I don't know if that is the Julian or Gregorian date. In early 44 .B.C, Julius Caesar declared him Dictator for life. Thus, from early 753 B.C. to early 44 B.C. is 711 years.

I forgot, to add, since its getting late, that when David Flynn mentioned the 7/11 date, it got me thinking about my Latin lessons and Roman History from my high school days. I was talking with my pastor about the connection between July & Caesar. From there, the Holy Spirit sent me to do a bit of online research. And, as Scripture says: "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient time the things that are not yet done, saying My counsel shall stand" Isaiah 46:10.
