Steve,
I have written you before about strange goings on in my area. Last week I was out mowing my lawn and I noticed a stripe of blue paint about 6 inches long and 1 inch wide on the pavement in front of my driveway. I had never seen it before now. I am a part time officer with a local police department, a military veteran (USAF Security Police, nuclear security) and I have held elective office as a constable in my township. I am also a CCW instructor and an outspoken advocate of gun rights in my area.
Looking at this mark, I've never seen one like it used for routine things like underground line locates that you would expect to see for construction work. Those are the marks that you'll see when construction crews are getting ready to dig up streets so they don't dig up gas, electric, water, phone and sewer lines. Those will have arrows, dates and be specific colors for the service, none of which (in this area) are blue. None of my neighbors for several blocks around me has anything similiar to this mark, but when I called one of my fellow part time officers who lives in this area and had him check, he has a similar mark in front of his house.
