Indian Premier on Bomb Alert

India's prime minister is at the centre of a safety alert in Kashmir, with security sources suggesting a suicide attack is being planned against him. Indian intelligence officials listening in on a conversation between Islamic militants fighting to separate the Himalayan region from India have heard mention of the planned bombing. It comes hours after Vajpayee said in a speech to troops they should prepare for a "decisive battle" against the Pakistan-based militants who have fought in Kashmir for 12 years.
