UFO Film Sparks Fresh ET Debate

November 5, 2002

Many people say they have seen "something strange" and some claim that what they saw was a spaceship. Others say they have met aliens.

Nonetheless, scientists remain mostly unmoved. They say that although some UFO cases merit investigation, it is not because they could be alien craft.

The images captured over the south coast were filmed by a police helicopter. The UFO was spotted travelling across the coast and was followed for about 10 miles.

None of the crew members on board the helicopter had seen anything like it before or since.

The footage has aroused the interest of UFO enthusiasts. So what could it be? Well, some people think it could be a balloon or some other simple explanation... What do you think?

This looks genuine to me. You would think that a police chopper with all this technology on it would be able to distinguish if it was just a balloon or something. The object is obviously travelying at high speeds, someone should look up the weather reports from that night and see how powerful the winds were. UFO's are showing up more and more frequently and this object appears to show qualities of one, with its glowing intesity. It could be one of those oil lamps in a transparent bag but how often have you let a balloon go and see it travel that fast, they notmally just float up. If the wind speed was that strong that night you think the police, especially in a chopper would take note of it. I highly suggest everyone visit www.disclosureproject.org and see what over 450 US present and former high ranking military, government, and corporate officials have to say about UFO's. Colin Samul, Royal Oak, MI, USA

First of all, this is a UFO (UNIDENTIFIED Flying Object). Second, it is without a doubt not a balloon. That could be agreed upon by anyone with the ability to reason. I have asked around and have been told that it is either part of a 'Black Ops' project derived from alien technology (much like that which crash landed in Roswell, only to be reverse engineered), or actual alien technology itself. I, nor anyone I know, have never seen such a thing that can be even remotely classified as terrestrial technology. And no, it's not a 'natural phenomena or just a vivid imagination.' Leo Place, NY, USA

It's a really strange object in my opinion! I don't think that it's a weather balloon or something like that because 'the object' goes really fast. Another great thing about this movie is that it's filmed for over 3 minutes, usually you see this 10 second movies about UFO's. I really hope I see anything like that overhere in Holland :) Dirk, Budel, Netherlands

Ever wonder if the US intelligence community has yet figured out what all this now you see us/now you don't metalogic is all about? My best guess is the gradual incorporation of the 'We're Here' idea into human consciousness, without doing too much damage to our belief systems and political /economic/ religious structures. The purpose of the contact; there's the real question. If there has been no 'face-to-face' contact, how does the intelligence community go about deciding if 'their' motives are destructive/constructive/or benign? Hopefully, they have some top people working on this. Bob K, Edison, New Jersey, USA

England Scientists believe rather their own invisible theories like the Big Bang-, Snare-, M-theory than a real phenomenon seen by thousands of peoploids all over the world for ages. How come? Peter, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Yet another documented sighting. Notice how these have increased in the last 50 years or so? We're heading for something big, and we need to get our heads on straight. Neb, Central CA, USA

I have seen stranger things in reality than in the video clip. Y.P. Nota, Amsterdam

For years now the BBC has been dumbing down its programmes, now it appears it is doing the same with its websites. This kind of croc story would normally be on the inner pages of a low quality tabloid paper, or as a Fox TV network special 'When UFO's attack!' Michael, London

It is hard to tell what the object actually looks like, however, in my opinion the idea of the object being a ballon is rediculous. If a helicoptor came upon a ballon it would have over taken the object in seconds not chase it for ten minutes. Please guys...saying this was a ballon sounds like the Airforce here in the USA! All I can say is if this was a balloon you fellows have the fastest balloons in the world and the slowest copters. Give me a break. Geez maybe it was a paper airplane for crying out loud! Unidentified it was as so it remains...but balloon? Caidin, Colorado USA

I say it is unmanned and it is some kind of device to like a camera, but more advanced. the mission of that evice is to explore and it is disguised as an lightning object. GundamWing, Belgium

It is so vague it could be anything. It's so simple, put something in the air with some lights and everybody is convinced it's an UFO. But could anyone confirm the speed or the size of this thing? that would make thing much more interesting than a flying thing of light. G.J. Stam, Netherlands

The HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy has this to say on the subject of 'teasers': "Teasers are usually rich kids with nothing to do. They cruise round looking for planets that haven't made interstellar contact yet and 'buzz' them.... They find some isolated spot with very few people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul whom no one's ever going to believe and strut up and down in front of him wearing silly antennas on their head and making "beep beep" noises. Rather childish really." Peter P, Netherlands

This is, as most "sightings" are, fairly well put together, but will no doubt turn out to be anothe fake, or explainable by some phenomena other than alien life; there is no reason to believe that this is actually any form of a UFO... people who want something to believe in will look for any excuse! Khrys, London, UK

...umm i don`t think this is real. maybe its a weather balloon or something like that. I only beleave it when i see it my self. Mark Timmermans, Den Bosch, Netherlands

The fact that it's filmed by a police chopper with night/day vision gives it the extra feeling that it is actually real Salvador, Enschede / Netherlands
