2 cups dried apples
6 cups boiling water
1/3 cup butter (1/3 cup water mixed with 2/3 cup butter powder)
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup raisins 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. rum extract 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, pour boiling water over apples. Let stand 1 hour or until soft. Drain. Heat butter in a large skillet. Add apples. Fry until lightly golden. Add brown sugar and raisins. Stir. Add cinnamon and extracts. Stir well to coat. Serve while hot along side pancakes and eggs. Also great spooned over a cheese filled blintz.
