Death could not keep Him; the tomb could not hold Him, Satan could not defeat Him; soon every knee will bow to Him. And now with all of heaven and creation, I raise my voice and cry, Praises to our God and King, Worthy is the Lamb, our Savior is ALIVE!

GETHSEMANE THE ROAD TO CALVARY
Jesus went away, as He often did to pray.
Taking those He loved into the garden.
It was in the garden, that His own will was lost,
Before He climbed Golgotha, and stayed upon the cross.

Overwhelmed with sorrow, as He prayed there on that hill
With blood and sweat upon His brow submitting to God’s will.
Falling on His face, this was the Son of God
He knew the enemy would come with torches, swords and rods.

He prayed, “Not my will but Thine be done” as the others slept.
The weight of Calvary upon Him as He prayed and as He wept.
If it were not for the angel, sent from the heart of God
Would He have died there in the garden before the hill He trod?

Then sacrificing His own will, for the will of God,
Jesus rose, full of faith and love, to meet the angry mob.
Now facing soldiers and the one who betrayed Him with a kiss,
He gave the hour to the enemy, saying “I have come for this!”

For the moment, sin triumphant, our Savior’s hands were bound,
And those He taught and trusted were nowhere to be found.
His trial a joke, from the moment of its inception,
He was the Lamb to pay sin’s price, facing crucifixion.

He gave His body on the cross, on the mount of Calvary,
But the sacrifice was made in the garden of Gethsemane.
Jesus had sacrificed Himself before, when He entered Mary’s womb,
It was for this sacrifice He came to enter now the tomb.

When it was done, for which He came, sin’s price had now been paid.
He rose to life victorious, over sin, and death, and grave!
And He held within His mighty grasp a mysterious set of keys,
They loosed the chains that bound my heart, the keys that set men free!

Death could not keep Him; the tomb could not hold Him,
Satan could not defeat Him; soon every knee will bow to Him.
And now with all of heaven and creation, I raise my voice and cry,
Praises to our God and King, Worthy is the Lamb, our Savior is ALIVE!
