RUSSIA BUYING HUGE NUMBER OF U.S. CATTLE-CATTLE RANCHER SPEAKS UP

Just a note on the soaring beef prices. We manage a cattle ranch here in
Oregon, it is a cow/calf operation. That means that when our calves are 8
or so months old we sell them to others. All of the heifer calves were
bought by Russia. They spend about 30 days on a boat to get to Russia. The
point to all of this is that we were certainly not the only ones they were
buying heifers from. The buyer told our salesman that they wanted to buy
100,000 each year for the next 10 years. So in the past when beef prices
went up and people stopped buying so much then we would have a price drop
but it doesn't look like that will be happening now. Just thought you might
like to know.Jana
