FLEETING FEEDOM :Too many who died for freedom, sadly, had to die in vain And now too few are humbled to repentance for freedom to be sustained.
FLEETING FREEDOM
“Let freedom ring” is what we sing,
While we sell our freedom cheap,
The statue calls to one and all
While were dying at her feet.
On freedom’s shore she’ll stand no more,
Unless we cure sin’s cancer,
Fall on our knees, to heaven plead,
Is America’s only answer.
When on God we call, we will stand tall,
And be “One nation under God.”
We could expose the lies before we die
Proving hell has had us robbed.
A pagan statue stands in New York Harbor with a torch held in her hand
Supposedly a welcome call to one and all who would venture to this land
As followers of Christ we’ve a torch to hold, we are called to bear a holy light
Showing every man sin’s curse is overcome by God’s power and His might.
When God’s people, the ones who are called by His holy name,
Will humble themselves before our Mighty God bringing Him our shame
And on our knees, with contrite hearts we fervently plead and pray,
God has promised He will heal our land and its people He will save.
Alas no true freedom can be found in New York’s famous harbor
As grand as the statue seems to be, freedom requires something larger
A Savior hung on a rugged cross high on a barren hill
The call He gave to one and all is sounding from there still.
It is only in the person of Jesus Christ that liberty may be obtained
It is only by His grace that judgment has been restrained
Too many who died for freedom, sadly, had to die in vain
And now too few are humbled to repentance for freedom to be sustained.
