The remnant through obedience found safety in a world experiencing destruction The righteous were not forsaken they were spared by God’s word and His instruction.
In the days of Noe there was no place left for a righteous man to dwell,
So Noe builded him an ark in which he could ride the waves and swells.
The remnant through obedience found safety in a world experiencing destruction
The righteous were not forsaken they were spared by God’s word and His instruction.
Living in Sodom Lot’s heart was grieved and vexed from day to day
There was no respite from the evil and God’s judgment would not be stayed.
Angels sent from heaven came to rescue Lot from this land both evil and perverse
They were a very tiny remnant but God made a way for the righteous to be preserved.
Just two examples of destruction that came because of sin
Is it so very different now? The land we’re living in?
Is there a place for the righteous man to dwell in safety anymore?
Are we left alone to face the judgments that surely are in store?
The watchmen cry out day and night does anyone listen to these men?
If dead men’s bones were brought to life would the people listen then?
Or would they be enthralled thinking zombies have finally come to life,
Giving attention to their fantasies not the warnings though they’re rife.
The minds of men are shaped by fantasy and not by the Word of God.
What if men not of this world were to come and dwell upon this sod?
Will men know who they are or will they swoon in science fiction fantasy
And will there be a place for the righteous man to find escape from such calamity?
Even now the wicked rule and God’s word has become defiled
There is no place where the righteous are accepted for all have been beguiled!
Are we left without the hope of rescue, must we dwell in fear each hour?
Will we be sacrificed like the unborn; are we alone to face a malevolent power?
I feel like the prophet Elijah who sat under a Juniper tree alone and wished to die
In fear that he was left alone in a world of danger and none would heed his cry.
But God had spared a remnant whose knees had never bowed to Baal
And like Lot, Elijah and Noah the righteous remnant, God will never fail.
What lies yet ahead we cannot fully know but the watchmen cry out a warning
It is time for the people of God to return to Him for soon we will see mourning.
Sorrow for those who live for self for those who bowed their knee to Baal
But God has made preparation for a remnant that is repentant when judgment is assailed
For the Lord loves the just and his love cannot be severed
He has promised in His word to protect the faithful forever.
The righteous the Lord will help, and from the wicked He will deliver them,
But rescue is preserved for those who take refuge in the Lord and turn away from sin
Can we afford to ignore the cry? Can we survive if we deny
The call for repentance and the conditions required to survive.
Will we believe the lies we are told by the powers of the air
And find ourselves in deep regret offering too late our prayers.
