Steve,
Heard something on my local talk radio station here in Knoxville this
morning that sent chills through me and verifies all that you have said
about martial law and people being easily lead. The topic was about the
Ferguson, MO police officers shot last evening and about peoples thoughts
on what their solution would be to deal with Ferguson and the calls were
for martial law to be enforced from dusk to dawn for a certain number of
days - think one guy said 100 days. Point of all this is how easily folks
came to the conclusion that martial law was the answer yet not realizing
that if that were the case here in Knoxville or in Ferguson, MO or anywhere
that martial law doesn't just apply to the people causing problems - it
applies to all regardless of your position on the particular issue at hand.
The folks calling in this morning seemed ok with the concept of martial law
but I also suspect that looking at it from a distance gives the sense that
it's ok there however, no thought of what could happen and how they would
impacted were that to happen here and become the norm in dealing with
protests. When folks easily buy into that concept we're pretty much down
the drain now as the dumbing down of the US populace is nearing completion
such that most will be willing to do whatever the government (local, state
and federal) deems necessary to deal with any given situation. Steve,
we're in trouble in a way that we've never been when folks will so easily
accept the idea of martial law to deal with any kind of uprising not
realizing that the good get lumped in with the bad because under martial
law there is no difference between those causing the problem and those
abiding by the rules/laws - under martial law all are suspect and
potentially subject to fines, arrest or some kind of force, including
deadly, if they question what's happening. That thought seemed to escape
the folks calling for it this morning.RANDY
