I'm an investigator for a small defense contractor. More importantly, I'm a saved Christian (for just a few years now). Part of my job function is to write proposals for small business innovation research (SBIR) funding. NASA recently released their 2018 solicitations, and I spent some time looking at each. Well, it was business as usual until I came across solicitation S4.05 -- "contamination control and planetary protection". This particular solicitation is concerned with not only our exploration contaminating celestial bodies, but, critically, BACKWARD CONTAMINATION -- i.e., bringing something nasty back to Earth. The number one nasty NASA is interested in mitigating: DNA, which should in actuality read alien DNA. This seems to be yet another piece of the soft disclosure puzzle.
