MEMBER OF U.S.ARMY HAS SOME INTERESTING INSIGHT ON THE BREAKDOWN OF US ARMY SUPPORT FOR TRUMP-AND NEW AMMUNITION PURCHASES,FOR GIANTS?
From what I've seen in the rank and file most of my peers do not support the president, and when we (Army) get involved in the civil war, I could see a widespread disintegration of unit cohesion, which is what our foreign adversaries want.
Most Army units have at least one cbrn guy, ours told us that they were breifed by higher up, and the covid19 goes right through the filters on our issued promasks. This is a big deal because one. That means the virus has airborne strains not publicly acknowledged obviously, and two the issued masks can filter out pretty much everything else including nuclear fallout. A scba suit is the only current defense we have against the virus.
And a final thought, I'm in a regular Army unit, not anything SOF related, one thing interesting I've noticed in the last year or so, is that the entire Army, to the best of my knowledge has switched 5.56, and 7.62 ammunition. The "new" stuff, M855a1, and M80a1 Enhanced Penetrator Rounds have been around for awhile, but only limited to special uses. It's unavailable to civilians except via the black market. The new ammuntion consists on a hardened steel tip, with a solid copper body. The steel punches through armor, while the copper mushrooms out like a hollow point. With current Army warfighting doctrine, it's not uncommon to go through tens of thousands of rounds in an engagement. That's a lot of money to spend on a predominantly copper round, when lead is heavier and still very soft. The offical reason for the adoption of the M855a1/M80a1 is to pierce russian ballistic plates. I remember what you said about Giants and copper, and wonder if someone in charge of acquisitions in the supply chain knows something's up. N.
