Not only should we be storing food but we must store basics too before the cost becomes out of reach. FOOD PRICES WIL DOUBLE AND TRIPLE IN 2014 _
Good Morning Hawk and Steve, I was just looking at the grocery ads on line. Living in a rural area I do not get a news paper delivered to my home. I noticed how the price of cooking oil has gone up. I mean really gone up, a good price would be 2.58 to 2.98 for a 48 oz bottle of vegetable oil....WELL at a local store Ingles, they have Wesson on sale 2 for 6.00 save 3.96 not on sale it would be 4.98 or 9.96 for too...the store brand for 48 oz is on sale for 3.48 the ad reads save a dollar which would make it 4.48 not on sale. A few month ago I could buy cooking oil for 1.99 on sale or a gallon for 5.99. I feel this is significant enough for people to take a good look at. So when it's on sale grab it. Not only should we be storing food but we must store basics too before the cost becomes out of reach. The likes of sugar, salt, cooking oil, shortening, baking soda, corn starch, vinegars etc are needed to cook and preserve and can foods that we grow. Salt you can still pick up for 3.25 to 4.25 in a large 25 lb bag. Well that was the price the last time I looked a month ago, you need salt to can and preserve food so it is very important. Folks need to look at their pantry and see what basic supplies they have and buy more while its within their reach. I remember my Mom talking about rationing during WWll, so I took a look at what items were rationed then. That was an eye opener. I am listening to Steve right now and he inspired me to write this..I enclosed some links that may be helpful on how to use certain products. Please tell the folks to stock up on their basics, its so important. I will be telling the people in church today. Stay safe and well my brothers...Joy Jan 26, 2014 |
