Steve, I have a longtime friend who is an over the road truck-driver. Yesterday he was pulled over for a common "level one inspection" (where they check cargo manifests, driver's compliance with hours of service, and a a quick vehicle mechanical condition inspection). He had nothing but praise for the professionalism of the officer. He was invited up to the patrol car to watch while the officer ran his commercial driver's license, and was able to see the information that came up on the screen. Here is where is gets a little concerning, there was a red bar that appeared on the screen, and below this bar was a warning to the officer the he was suspected to a member of a domestic terrorist group, that he should be assumed to be armed, and to approach with extreme caution, Also he claims that that there was a number that the officer was to call when contact was made. The officer in his presence called the number, and made a quick verbal report of his location, and answered some other questions. The officer claimed to have ad never seen the red bar, nor the phone number appear before when a driver's license was entered. Could this be a new level of linking of data bases?
